Documenting recovery communications

A reliable record is more useful than a scattered collection of screenshots.

01. Capture context

For each communication record the date, time, number or address, claimed lender, content and any supporting file.

02. Keep the evidence unchanged

Preserve original emails and messages where possible. Do not alter screenshots or recordings; note how each item was obtained.

03. Use verified grievance channels

Check official lender communications and agreements before sharing account details or sending a complaint.

04. Separate facts from concerns

Describe what occurred, identify which evidence supports it and state the specific remedy or clarification requested.

05. Escalate appropriately

Where applicable, follow lender grievance channels and competent complaint mechanisms. Seek professional legal advice about rights and remedies.

06. Prioritise safety

If you face an immediate threat, contact local emergency services or law enforcement. A consultancy enquiry is not an emergency reporting service.
